Website pricing / New Zealand

A serious website begins with a clear scope.

GA Applications prices the work that makes the website useful: the strategy, content structure, original design, search foundations, measurement, integrations and launch. You see the scope before the build begins.

The real market range

The same label can hide very different work.

A subscription page, a small brochure site, a strategy-led sales platform and a connected digital product may all be advertised as “website design”. That is why the cheapest headline price rarely answers the buying question.

01

Template or subscription

Prebuilt structure, limited customisation and a recurring platform fee. Suitable when speed matters more than distinction.

Under NZ$3k
02

Small tailored website

A modest custom layer, a defined page set and standard forms. The depth of research, copy and search work varies widely.

NZ$3k–$10k
03

Strategy-led custom website

Original information architecture, design, customer journeys, search foundations, measurement and deliberate launch work.

NZ$10k–$30k
04

Complex platform or digital product

Commerce, portals, user accounts, custom data, integrations, software behaviour or substantial content and governance.

NZ$30k–$100k+

These are practical New Zealand comparison bands, not quotations or promises about another provider's scope. Public prices commonly exclude GST, subscriptions, content, licences, advertising and ongoing support. Currency and inclusions vary by provider.

GA Applications website levels

Choose the depth the business needs.

These are genuine starting prices for defined custom website engagements. They are not bait prices. We confirm the pages, responsibilities, integrations, review rounds, launch work and exclusions in writing.

IMPORTANTThe indicative page counts describe common projects, not a per-page price. One complex page can require more research, writing, design and testing than several simple pages. The signed proposal is the controlling scope.

Specialist builds

When the website must do more than publish pages.

Commerce, membership, booking, customer access and operational software introduce transaction, permission, data and support requirements. We scope these as systems, not decorative add-ons.

After launch

Build cost and ongoing work stay separate.

You should know what maintains the website, what improves it and what belongs to a third party. Choose only the level of ongoing attention the business can use.

Managed hosting and essential care

Hosting coordination, routine updates, backups, uptime checks and a defined support channel.

from NZ$199 / month + GST

Active website support

Essential care plus a defined allowance for practical content, layout and technical improvements.

from NZ$499 / month + GST

Search and content improvement

Measured technical, content and internal-link improvements around agreed search opportunities. Rankings are never guaranteed.

from NZ$1,250 / month + GST

Advertising, software and production

Media spend, licences, paid data, travel, photography, video and specialist suppliers are shown separately.

quoted when needed

What changes the investment

Price follows responsibility.

The largest changes usually come from what the website must prove, connect, publish or protect, not from a visual effect added at the end.

Research and positioning

How much work is needed to understand the buyer, market, competitors, offer and reasons to choose the business.

Content depth and responsibility

Whether content is supplied ready to use, needs professional editing, or must be researched, written, reviewed and governed.

Original design and motion

The number of reusable layouts, the distinction of the visual system, animation complexity and performance constraints.

Search structure

Service architecture, location or industry intent, internal linking, structured data, migration and preservation of existing visibility.

Transactions and integrations

Payments, bookings, accounts, CRM, APIs, imports, permissions, notifications and the reliability expected from each connection.

Governance and release

Stakeholder count, accessibility, privacy, testing environments, approvals, training, deadlines and post-launch responsibility.

Every signed proposal

Makes the responsibility visible.

  • business goal and agreed outcome
  • included pages, components and features
  • content and asset responsibilities
  • review rounds and approval points
  • platform, integrations and required access
  • testing, release and handover plan
  • payment stages and support period

Unless expressly included

These remain separate.

  • GST and third-party subscriptions
  • advertising or media spend
  • domain purchases and premium licences
  • travel, photography and video production
  • unlimited revisions or an open-ended page count
  • new integrations discovered after approval
  • ongoing SEO, content or maintenance work

Pricing questions

Before you compare proposals.

How much does a custom business website cost in New Zealand?

GA Applications custom website engagements begin at NZ$11,900 plus GST. A growth-focused website begins at NZ$16,900 plus GST, and an advanced website begins at NZ$24,900 plus GST. Your written proposal confirms the final scope and price.

Why not price a website only by page count?

A page can be a simple text layout or a researched sales page with original structure, copy, media, animation, search optimisation, forms and integrations. Page count matters, but it does not measure the whole job.

Is GST included in these prices?

No. The starting prices on this page exclude GST. A formal proposal shows the subtotal, GST and total payable.

Can we begin with a smaller first stage?

Yes, when the first stage still delivers a useful and testable customer journey. We can prioritise the most important offer and expand through separately approved stages.

Are hosting and SEO included?

The initial build includes the technical and on-page search foundations stated in the scope. Hosting, ongoing maintenance, continuing SEO and new content are separate unless the proposal includes them.

Does paying more guarantee a number-one Google ranking?

No responsible provider can guarantee a particular organic ranking. A stronger investment can fund better research, architecture, content and technical work, but results also depend on competition, reputation, links, location, demand and continued improvement.

What should I send to receive a useful scope?

Send the current website if there is one, the services or products that matter most, the customers you want, known problems, useful examples, required integrations, available content and the decision deadline.

Start with the scope

Tell us what the website must achieve.

We will identify the suitable level, the important unknowns and the work that should be priced separately. You receive a defined proposal before committing to the build.
