Arctic Drift: From One Snowflake
A 12-chapter, scroll-controlled WebGL story in which one snowflake gathers into weather, reveals an Arctic world and returns through the aurora.
Arctic Drift is a twelve-chapter interactive WebGL study by GA Applications. It begins with one crystalline snowflake, gathers scale and weather, crosses sea ice, follows life beneath the surface, rises into an aurora and finally returns to its point of origin. The sequence turns a small natural detail into a navigable digital world without asking the visitor to leave the browser.
The work demonstrates how procedural form, real-time lighting, responsive quality settings, spatial sound and scroll choreography can support a clear narrative arc. Each chapter changes the scene, pace and point of attention while preserving one continuous journey. It is a prototype for product launches, editorial explainers and campaign experiences that need to make complex ideas memorable through movement.
